The family name Pook is written in Japanese in a katakana phonetic translation using the characters “pu” and “ku”. Katakana (Jap. 片仮名 or カタカナ) is a syllabary, a set of symbols that represent syllables. Besides hiragana, it is the second Japanese syllabary. Each katakana symbol stands as a syllabogram either for a vowel or a consonant with the following vowel. Since my wife is Japanese and my children are half Japanese I am trying to learn this language.

Corporate design for the law firm Meier-Greve

Making-of photo of the movie portrait

For the Kanzlei für Privatrecht of Alexander Meier-Greve, a new corporate identity was developed. The wordmark suggests a confidential conversation between lawyer and client, and stands for the sharing of expertise without condescension. This is further expressed through the use of photography, and represents the office as a place of trust. Similarly, the personal impression as well as the location Berlin should, through the visual language, emphasise the individual character. The new functionally optimised website contains a video statement by Alexander Meier-Greve conveying unusual warmth and authenticity.
